OMG! An egg!

This morning we got our first egg & it's beautiful! And tiny! And perfect. Clearly we have highly intelligent chickens.  Andrew suspects this is Joan's because she was clucking with pride this morning.

  1. Congratulations! The first egg is so special!

My orpingtons do announce when they lay.

  2. It's not quite as small as it looks. That's a small bowl (and quite mushroomy!). The egg is about 2 inches pole to pole. Tinier than you get in the store, but certainly no robin's egg. A couple more of those, and we've got ourselves an omelet!
